Thank you for your interest in running for the Area 1 Region 3 Regional President. 

• Application Qualifications
  • Candidates for Regional President must be a Freshman, Sophomore or a Junior when running for office.
    • Have a minimum of a 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
    • Must have good standing with school.
    • Be an active BPA State and National member in good standing by January 14, 2025.
    • Not already holding a BPA office for the 2025-2026 year at the Regional, State, or National level.
    • Ability to abide by all rules and regulations as set forth by the candidate’s Regional Advisor,
• Candidates for Regional President should contact their Regional Advisor, Kelly Munro at munrok@friscoisd.org or Julie Barker at barkerj@friscoisd.org for region-specific questions. Each Region handles elections differently; the Regional President candidate is responsible for abiding by the regulations and procedures as outlined in his/her Region. For Area 1 Region 3, in addition to the packet submission, you will need to submit your video speech to the voting delegates. Those requirements are listed after the packet submission section. Packets will be due by December 18, 2025, AT 6:00 p.m. and must be uploaded to the form loaded on this website https://area1region3.bpa.org/.  The winning Regional President Candidate from Area 1, Region 3 will have their “Officer Election Packet” electronically sent to the Officer Elections Committee and the Texas BPA Officer Coordinator for the next steps that need to be taken.
• Packet Submission
  • All Regional President candidates will be expected to submit the Officer Election Packet by the designated deadline for our region of December 18, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. Completed Officer Election Packets should be submitted to https://area1region3.bpa.org/. No late or incomplete packets will be accepted.
  • The Officer Election Packet must include the following items that must be typed:
    • Regional President Candidate Information Form – This form will provide the State Officer Coordinator with very important contact information that will be needed if the candidate is elected
    • Chapter Advisor and Officer Candidate Agreement – The candidate must agree to abide by all terms of this commitment. Please refer to other scheduled conflicts before running for office (i.e. football, band, theatre, work, sports, etc.)
    • Officer Calendar – Must have all required signatures
    • Officer Social Media Policy – Must have all required signatures
    • Officer Code of Ethics – Must have all required signatures
    • Officer Demerit System – Must have all required signatures
    • Guidelines for Local Advisors of Regional and State Officers – Must have all required signatures
    • Media Release Form – This form will give our webmaster permission to upload your picture to our website as soon as the new Regional Presidents are elected. It must have all the required signatures.
    • Unofficial High School Transcript – Please include a scanned copy of your unofficial transcript.
    • Candidate Cover Letter – This letter must be addressed to your Regional Advisor. In this letter, you will have the opportunity to explain your reason(s) for running for office and your qualifications. Must follow Style and Reference Manual guidelines.
    • Résumé – Must be typed.
    • Letter of Recommendation – Must be from and signed by the candidate’s BPA advisor.
    • 100 Word Statement – This statement should explain what goals/ideas/abilities you as the candidate will bring to Business Professionals of America, Texas Association, if elected.
    • Digital Photo of Candidate – Picture should be saved in a .JPG format, for media purposes. (Please attach .JPG separate from officer packet documents.)
    • Video SPEECH – All Regional President candidates for Area 1 Region 3 are expected to submit a two (2) minute video to replace the traditional in person speech for Area 1 Region 3. Please make sure to keep this video profession and have a clean, simple background. Your video can only have you in it. This video must be shot in landscape style and highlight your campaign goals. Please make sure that video is submitted in .MP4 format. This video will be seen by all voting delegates and will be posted to the regional YouTube video channel and be the basis of your campaign. Make sure to dress for success in your video. Videos not shared properly will not be linked on the ballot for voting.
